I didn’t get to do as many MerMay Mermaids as I was hoping. But, ya know, I tried. Here are the three that squeaked through just in time.

My favorite piece of animation is the Goldfish Ballet from Fantasia. Did anyone else ever wonder how those sultry goldfish kept their makeup on under water? So fancy.

August was not as artistically creative as I was hoping. I did get a new opaque watercolor palette (I need to stop) and a set of cheap gouache tubes (I really need to stop) because I’ve come to hate mixing colors. Ok, that’s not totally true. I just love having crazy colors right out of the tube. And some you just can’t mix right…like purple. But anyway, September and October have some exciting events coming up, so I’ll post more later 😉

I’ve been getting better about adding to my sketchbook. I try to do something everyday. The important thing to remember is not to censor or criticize yourself. Don’t worry about doing a bad drawing. No one has to see it!

But…here are my favorites from July :
